Final Fantasy 15 DLC: Tabata Responds To Fan’s Uncertainty

DLCs are here to stay, says Tabata.

Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata recently spoke about DLCs for the game, acknowledging that several fans of the Final Fantasy series were not comfortable with the DLC model, but suggested that Square Enix will continue to update the game with future single player downloadable episodes.

“The reason it sparked debate was probably because we announced that we will continue to update a single-player game,” Tabata said in an interview with US Gamer (which has been taken down). “This model has not been fully established yet. The fans who have grown accustomed to playing traditional Final Fantasy games may feel uneasy about this unfamiliar initiative.”

He continued: That said, I personally believe the approach to updating single-player games, as we are doing with this title, will continue on in the future as a new trend.”

Last week we reported that there were several areas in the map of Final Fantasy 15’s base game that were inaccessible but could be explored through exploitation of certain glitches, and these areas could probably be featured in future DLCs. Read that article here.
