Square Enix has been talking about Final Fantasy 15, its long in development action RPG that was originally known as Final Fantasy Versus XIII, more often than usual. The publisher is currently readying for a stage demo at Gamescom 2015 and it’s been rumoured that information on a release date could be revealed soon.
As it stands, that may be truer than we first believed. In the latest issue of Famitsu (as revealed by the Twitter of Nova Crystallis), Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda said that the company will be able to talk about a global release soon. It seems there are various plans in the mix right now.
The term “global release” is interesting since Final Fantasy games often release in Japan first. Either way, it means that we should be receiving more information on a release date at least in this year itself. Could a 2016 release date really be possible? We’ll find out when Gamescom rolls around on August 5th to 8th so stay tuned for more information.
