Epic Games’ free to play Fortnite Battle Royale, which allows players to compete solo or as a team in a 100 person PvP fight for survival, has been doing pretty well for itself. Along with having 3.7 million active users and 525,000 peak concurrent players on October 8th, the developer revealed that the total player base has hit 10 million since launch.
Once again, given how the mode has been out for only two weeks (having launched on September 26th), that’s pretty darn good. As a free to play mode available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, this may not be as impressive as the over 15 million paid players that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is reported to have. But it’s still very, very impressive.
Fortnite itself has also been pretty well since launching despite requiring paid access to its beta. It’s sold 7 million copies till now and has no signs of slowing down, especially with Horde Bash releasing last week.
