Fortnite coming to Nintendo Switch is a foregone conclusion, a matter of when, not if, at this point. Epic Games is really hot on Nintendo’s hybrid, Unreal Engine 4 is incredibly well optimized for Switch, and Fortnite is already out for iOS, which means it is already optimized well for weaker, mobile devices.
So a Fortnite port to Nintendo Switch won’t be much of a surprise- which is why this rumor doesn’t strike me as especially unlikely. Twitter user @LeakyPandy who, under the name Vandal_Leaks, correctly leaked info surrounding the Nintendo Direct presentation in March, has apparently got information on Fortnite‘s allegedly upcoming Switch port.
Apparently, both Battle Royale and Save the World will be making the jump to the Switch, with Battle Royale supporting cross platform play, and having no “substantial differences” from the other platforms. Save the World, on the other hand, will, much like Rocket League and Skyrim, have Switch exclusive content, mostly in the form of Nintendo themed gear.
As of right now, this is a rumor, so treat it as such- that said, no part of it sounds outlandish, so who knows. Maybe Fortnite gets announced for the Switch this E3.
