Fortnite Getting New “Playground Mode” For Players To Practice

New mode to practice and learn the game being added to Fortnite tomorrow.

Fortnite is a worldwide phenomenon, but if you download it today and try to boot it up, you wouldn’t understand why- there are absolutely no tutorials whatsoever, and you’re just left to fend for yourself, making it up as you go along and try to figure out what the controls are and how the mechanics work.

That may be changing with the upcoming introduction of a new mode- Epic has announced that it will be adding a new mode, named Playground, to the game, which will be exactly what the name implies. It’s a more casual mode, where you can practice your strategies, build, play with friends, and respawn immediately upon death. The map will be identical to battle royale, with all loot and chests spawning too, so you can not only learn the controls and practice your strategies, but also learn the map, and figure out how you want to play in an actual battle royale game.

The new mode will be available starting tomorrow, June 26, and will be a limited time mode- but given that Epic routinely brings its other LTMs back into rotation frequently, I hope it’s a regular mainstay of the game going forward.

That’s a good addition from Epic right there- it should make the game even more welcoming to newcomers. Fortnite is available now on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and iOS mobile devices.
