Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox 360 Will Not Be Supported With DLC

Well, that's disappointing.

Microsoft has to be lauded for the kind of support the Xbox 360 has been getting from them even after the launch of the Xbox One. They’ve ensured that quite a few high profile Xbox One games have also had corresponding Xbox 360 releases- such as Titanfall, which had an excellent Xbox 360 version spearheaded by Bluepoint Games, and now Forza Horizon 2, where the conversion isn’t necessarily as sound, but is still great enough to recommend the Xbox 360 version of the game to anyone who wants to try out more arcade sim racing action without having to splurge $400 on an Xbox One.

However, now, this new announcement from Microsoft probably makes the 360 version of the title significantly less appealing- Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox 360 edition of the game will be getting no DLC or any other form of post launch support.

“We are currently planning to release DLC only for the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2,” they said on the Forza forums. “Also, Forza Rewards benefits are only available in the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2. This means that Xbox 360 players will not receive Forza Rewards credits or cars.

“In addition, progress in the 360 version of Forza Horizon 2 does not count towards your Forza Rewards Tier Level score. Only progress in the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2 will count towards your overall Forza Score (and Tier Level) in Forza Rewards.”

It sounds like Microsoft have ensured that the 360 gets an excellent conversion of the game, they are still doing their best to push players towards getting the Xbox One version, understandably. Still though, I hate it when companies cripple versions of their games on any platforms unnecessarily. I hate it when they do it with Wii U versions of multiplatform games, and I hate it here now.
