Forza Horizon Dev Hires Various Talent From Open World Games For Their Next AAA Project

Some high level talent is coming to Playground Games for their first non-racing project.

Playground Games, responsible for the Forza Horizon series has been putting together a new team and working on a non-racing game. Outside of it being open world, there was no other information at the time. Now thanks to Gamesindustry.biz, we’re getting an idea of what to expect.

Playground has recently brought onboard Sean Eyestone, Will Kennedy and Juan Fernandez di Simon, individuals who all each had a hand in some of the biggest open world games of the last several years. Eyestone will be the new project director, taking ten years of Kojima Productions and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain experience with him. Kennedy brought the world of Los Santos to life as level designer in Grand Theft Auto V and di Simon was the senior designer on Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice.

Having just leased new office space for the team to work on the new RPG project, and having these men to help guide the ship makes whatever eventually comes out of them that much more exciting. Phil Spencer recently made statements on how they’re working to fix Xbox’s IP problem with more compelling single player titles, and this could be just one of those projects.
