Turn 10 Studios’ Forza Motorsport 7 released this week for all but caused quite a bit of controversy with how it doled out Credits. Chief among this was the VIP Pass which comes with the Ultimate Edition (and can also be purchased separately). It usually provides a double Credit boost but in Forza 7, it only offers limited use mods for additional Credits. After several races, the benefit disappears.
Turn 10 studio head Alan Hartman has noticed the sheer anger among players though and in a letter to the community, he said that VIP Pass owners would receive 1 million free Credits and three free cars with the 2016 Jaguar F-TYPE Project 7 Forza Edition, 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Forza Edition, and 2010 Maserati Gran Turismo S Forza Edition. Furthermore, double Credits for all races will be coming back.
“We will be changing VIP rewards in Forza Motorsport 7. This new system will work like it did in Forza Motorsport 6, offering a 2X base credit bonus after every race. We’ve already started work on this feature and we will release it as soon as possible. Look for more information on this update as we near the release date.”
When you consider the Forza Motorsport 7 VIP Pass costs $20 and fans are not getting the benefits that were allotted to them in previous versions, the outrage comes across as understandable. That’s not to mention the lack of information about the same on the Microsoft Store, which has since changed to reflect what the VIP Pass does offer.
