Forza Motorsport 8 (currently being called simply Forza Motorsport) is being billed as a reinvention of Microsoft’s acclaimed racing simulation franchise, and though it’s going to be a while before the game actually comes out, developer Turn 10 Studios is adopting a different approach to development this time that will keep players and fans actively involved throughout the course of the game’s development.
It was confirmed earlier this month that Turn 10 Studios would be holding several feedback-based playtests for the upcoming racer for which fans could apply. The first batch of playtest invites has not gone out. In a tweet confirming the same, creative director Chris Esaki that owing to the much heavier involvement of players, the next Forza Motorsport’s development approach is “unlike anything we’ve done before.” More playtest invites will also be going out soon in the coming weeks and months.
Forza Motorsport is in development for Xbox Series X/S and PC. The game currently has no release date, but rumours have suggested that before it launches, Forza Horizon 5 could come out this year.
