The Coalition have spoken plenty of times about how, after having established themselves as capable custodians of Gears of War with Gears of War 4, they want to stamp their own mark on the series by taking it into completely new directions with the upcoming Gears 5. Recently, the developer hinted at something similar- though in very vague and cryptic fashion.
The Coalition studio head Rod Fergusson recently took to Instagram to mention that during the development of the game, he recently got the chance to d something he’s “never had the chance to do on a Gears of War game before”. What exactly might that be? Fergusson was, of course, not very forthcoming about that- but his post was accompanied with an image that I’m sure people will be looking to crack and decode. Take a look below.
The Coalition recently stopped their support of Gears of War 4 entirely as they now divert their full resources and attention to its sequel. With Microsoft planning to go big at E3 this year, we can probably expect Gears 5 to have a major showing- maybe even a release date? For now, all we know is that it launches sometime this year for the Xbox One and PC.
