Gears of War 4 Pre-Load Still Facing Issues on Windows 10

Download issues are apparently plaguing the PC version.

Before the release of The Coalition’s Gears of War 4, it was revealed that Windows 10 owners would need to update their OS in order to properly pre-load the game. This was in order to ensure problems that caused PC players to essentially re-download all the files again. Resuming downloads was also cited to be a problem considering the overall file size as seen with games like Forza Horizon 3.

Unfortunately, it seems the system is still broken for a number of users. On NeoGAF, many PC players have cited trouble with downloading PC files for Gears of War 4. One user in particular noted that, “Download started by itself last night and got to 10gb. Came home and it was back at 2gb.”

Another user stated that, “Freezes after downloading a few gig, I wait anything between 30mins and an hour, and nothing changes – it is just frozen. A restart can sometimes get it to resume downloading but could also end up resulting with it starting again. Currently looking at 11.52gb and it hasn’t budged for 45 mins.”

While some have speculated that the issue could be slower internet (with many stating their internet is not), the fact that Steam games are easily downloaded without any issues isn’t helping matters.
