Pre-loads go live today for Tango Gameworks’ Ghostwire: Tokyo on Steam. While the developer had previously outlined minimum and recommended requirements for PC players, it released a more detailed set of specifications today. The absolute minimum allows for playing at 1280×720 and a 30 FPS variable frame rate (VFR) while recommended settings bump up to 1920×1080 at 30 FPS VFR.
For playing at 1440p/30 FPS VFR, you’ll need an Intel Core-i7 8700 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB of RAM, GeForce RTX 2070S or Radeon RX 5700 with 8 GB or higher and a 20 GB SSD. At 2160p/30 FPS VFR, a Core-i7 8700 or Ryzen 5 3700 with an RTX 2080S, RTX 3070 or Radeon RX 6800 is required (with RAM, VRAM and storage space remaining the same). It’s the ray tracing settings where things get spicy.
At the very minimum, you’ll need an RTX 2060 with 6 GB video memory – other GPUs like the RX 6700T require 8 GB VRAM. The highest settings require an RTX 3080 or higher with a minimum of 10 GB VRAM. Non-Nvidia GPUs like the RX 6900T require 12 GB VRAM. It’s also worth noting the “scalability” of each set of requirements.
In a follow-up tweet, the developer clarified that 30 FPS is the target for each setting. This can be adjusted or 60 FPS or run uncapped. So if you’re playing in 1080p, then it should be possible to hit 60 FPS based on your set-up. Think of these requirements as a cut-off point for the same.
