After going live early for PS5 players that pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition, Tango Gameworks’ Ghostwire: Tokyo is now available worldwide for all PS5 and PC players. As the name suggests, the first-person action-adventure title is set in Tokyo where a mass vanishing of its citizens has taken place. As Akito, the player must find out what’s going on.
Due to being possessed by spirit detective KK, Akito is able to wield different elements like Fire, Wind, and Water through Ethereal Weaving. This will be necessary to fight back against the supernatural Visitors, who range from headless teenagers and Kappa to Kuchisake-onna. As players explore the city, they’ll encounter various stranded spirits, merchants and other strange phenomena.

As for what’s next from Tango Gameworks, founder Shinji Mikami has talked about new project helmed by John Johanas, who directed The Evil Within 2. A smaller project that would explore “new genres” with a new director and feature fresh talent is also reportedly in the works.
