The supposed delay of the rumoured release date announcement for God of War Ragnarok has kicked off speculation about the game’s release date. Prominent insider and freelance writer Tom Henderson on Exputer is speculating November 11 release date for the game. This falls in line with earlier rumors about the game’s release.
Henderson’s speculation comes from extrapolation of other release dates around the same time. The next Need for Speed is allegedly set to hit stores on November 4, and Ubisoft’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is supposedly set to come out on November 18, leading God of War Ragnarok to likely be released between the two games. The speculation also takes into account Sony’s trend of releasing its first-party games on Fridays.
Henderson’s report on Exputer also reveals details about God of War Ragnarok‘s Collector’s Editions. The collector’s editions are set to be named the Collector’s Edition and the Jotnar Edition.
While both editions are rumoured to feature a replica of the Mjolnir hammer at a 1:1 scale, the Jotnar Edition will come only with the hammer and a copy of the game. The Collector’s Edition, on the other hand, will include more goodies, including a map of the game, and some badges.
In light of the delay for the announcement, Sony Santa Monica creative director recently Cory Barlog took to Twitter to talk to fans. Barlog asked fans to be patient, and mentioned that announcements will be made when they are ready to be made.
As is the case with all rumours, we’d recommend taking these rumours with a grain of salt. While a November 11 release date is possible for God of War Ragnarok, it has not yet been confirmed by Sony.
