God of War Ragnarok Developer Trying to Limit Exposure to Leaks

Santa Monica Studio asked to be considerate of those "who do not want to accidentally see clips, gameplay, or narrative spoilers."

Santa Monica Studio’s God of War Ragnarok is out next week, but leaks are already in the wild due to some retailers breaking street date early. Creative director Cory Barlog has already called the leaks “disappointing,” and the studio has issued an official statement on the same.

“We ask that you please be considerate of the many fans who do not want to accidentally see clips, gameplay, or narrative spoilers and avoid sharing them wider.” It also said it was “doing our best” to limit the exposure to “unsanctioned footage and screenshots,” but can’t catch everything. As such, it advised fans to filter out any keywords or hashtags until the game’s launch.

It ended by stating, “We appreciate the support you’ve shown us more than we can say. We can assure you it will be worth the wait to experience the game yourself when it is released in less than two weeks on November 9th.”

God of War Ragnarok will be available for PS4 and PS5 worldwide at launch. Reviews go live on November 3rd at 9 AM PDT. Check out the launch trailer here to see it in action, and learn more about its new features here. It’s worth noting that Photo mode won’t be available until after launch. More details will be revealed closer to its release, so stay tuned in the coming weeks for more updates.
