Santa Monica Studio’s God of War Ragnarok is less than two weeks from release, with reviews going live next week. As one of the most eagerly anticipated titles of the year, it’s packed with features, from new enemies and combat mechanics to an expansive new story which brings closure to beloved characters. Unfortunately, one thing will be missing at launch.

On Twitter, the developer confirmed that Photo Mode – a staple of first-party Sony releases – would be coming to the sequel after launch. More details will be shared “closer to when we plan to release it.”

It’s likely similar to its predecessor’s Photo Mode, which included options for adjusting Depth of Field, Focus Distance, Focal Length, Field of View, and F-Stop. Players could also add filters, Vignettes, and Aspect Ratios, and adjust different facial expressions for Kratos and Atreus. The question is how the sequel will improve on the same, so stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.

God of War Ragnarok launches on November 9th for PS4 and PS5. Check out the latest screenshots here.
