Developer Polyphony Digital has detailed a new update coming to Gran Turismo 7, which brings with it complete support for PlayStation VR2. The update, numbered at 1.29, is set to hit the game on February 21.
In a blog post, the studio has outlined some of the enhancements made to the game in order to support the PlayStation VR2. Gran Turismo 7 in VR will feature specially optimised HDR tone mapping for its visuals, along with making use of the headset’s eye-tracking and support for dynamic 3D audio.
The entirety of Gran Turismo 7 will be playable with PlayStation VR2, including every game mode and race type. The only exception to this feature list is local two-player splitscreen multiplayer which, due to the limitations of VR, will not be available while playing with the headset.
The studio has previously stated that Gran Turismo 7 was developed with the PlayStation VR2 in mind from day 1 of development. The VR version of the game will also feature VR Showroom that allows players to get up close and personal with their cars.
PlayStation VR2 will be hitting store shelves on February 22.
