Grand Theft Auto 5: Rockstar Taking An ‘Explosive’ Approach To Curb Exploits In GTA Online

I guess that's what happens to illegal importers.

Rockstar are cool. I’m glad we’re all in agreement about that. Why do I say that though? Well if you remember, they have had a pretty fun way of dealing with cheaters in their games that a few other developers could learn from. The cheaters pool was all well and good in a game like Max Payne, but it wouldn’t fit with GTA cheaters, so how do they punish them? Explosions.

Players that try to take advantage of a GTA Online exploit that lets you carry your singleplayer vehicles over to the multiplayer game world have been receiving an explosive shock to the system recently. Specifically, the super OP Duke of Death car. So what happens is when you spawn in the car, everything appears as it usually would and you’ll find your vehicle nice and close, just waiting to be driven. Fair warning though, the moment you get into the driver seat, well, boom.

A Youtuber has captured this awesome moment in a video which can be watched below. GTA 5 is now available on current and last gen consoles and it’s coming on the PC on April 14th. For more on GTA Online, check our our complete guide on Heists.
