Grasshopper Manufacture has announced that its second Grasshopper Direct will occur on July 31st. The developer is working to ensure it’s ready on time this year, though it didn’t provide any hints on what to expect. The time wasn’t revealed, but further updates will be provided soon.
Last year’s presentation saw a brief delay from July 10th to July 15th. Following the announcement of Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered (which received new gameplay at the Direct), studio founder and CEO Suda51 was found playing an unannounced title. He commented that it was on the screen behind him while ensuring it remained obscured.
Perhaps the title will be revealed this year, though the developer’s surrealist humor dotting the Direct is probably a safer bet. Grasshopper Manufacture announced in August 2021 that it had five new games in development (of which three are new IPs). NetEase Games would then acquire it in October 2021.
Rumors circulated in November 2022 that the studio was working on a new triple-A horror title based on the Alien IP, but nothing has been officially announced. Stay tuned for updates later this week.
