GTA 5 new details- character switching, multiple endings, story length and more

GTA 5 has no lead platform.

New details on Grand Theft Auto 5 have reportedly emerged through an Italian Live Stream via the GTA forums. There are some plenty of interesting details, including the entire character switching mechanic and the length of the story.

Here they are below:

  • You cannot switch between characters if you have a wanted level. However, Rockstar is still working on this mechanic, so we will be seeing some changes soon.
  • The game will be about as long as Red Dead Redemption, which would make it about 25-30 hours long. Rockstar says it wants the story to be manageable in size, since several people did not finish GTA 4 due to its story being a bit too long. However, GTA 5 will still have plenty of secondary and side things to do.
  • The game will have multiple endings.
  • The game has no lead platform. It is being developed for the PS3 and the Xbox 360 simultaneously. And while there’s no information on a Wii U version, the PC could get a port a few months later.

The live stream also stated that Dan Houser will soon be answering questions such as why GTA games are always set in America, and why there has never been a female lead.

However, we will say that no credible, linked source has been given in the above report, so the information may well be untrue. So even though it sounds legit, we’d take it with a pinch of salt.
