CD Projekt RED has announced that its card game, Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, is reaching the end of its life in 2024. While the company still has content planned for the game, according to IGN, the studio is moving most of its developers to other projects.
In the mean time, CD Projekt RED has revealed its plans for content coming to Gwent: The Witcher Card Game throughout 2023, which will include three expansions set for April, July, and September, which will bring 72 new cards to the game.
The studio has also stated that, despite moving developers off the game, Gwent: The Witcher Card Game will still see additional content released in the future. The game will feature a season-based progression system, and a new feature that will allow for players to vote for balance changes to the game.
The last major release for Gwent, titled Gwent: Rogue Mage, was unveiled earlier this year for PC, Android and iOS. Gwent: Rogue Mage features more PvE experiences, with its story following Alzur, a mage looking to create the first Witcher.
