Some of the biggest games in the Xbox 360’s library just got made playable on the Xbox One- The Orange Box, Valve’s compilation release in 2007 which bundled together Half Life 2 with both of its episodes, alongside Team Fortress 2 and Portal, just got made playable on Xbox One via Xbox 360 backwards compatibility- making all the games playable on the console.
These aren’t the only games that are now playable on Xbox One, of course- but they are by far the biggest ones, without a doubt. The two other titles made available to play on Xbox One via backwards compatibility today are Galaga Legions and Joe Danger 2: The Movie, which is from the makers of No Man’s Sky (it’s significantly less ambitious, and therefore significantly less disappointing as a result).
Collectively, we are now nearing 300 Xbox 360 playable games on the Xbox One, so Microsoft are definitely living up to their end of the bargain, when they announced the initiative at E3 last year. That’s for sure.
