Halo Wars 2 Will Not Support HDR

But 4K resolutions are supported, at least on PC.

Halo Wars 2, the eagerly anticipated sequel to the 2008’s real time strategy Halo spin off, is almost here- however, it looks like the game will not support HDR display, not even on the Xbox One S. This should come as a disappointment to a lot of Halo fans and Xbox One S owners, who are by now probably used to HDR enabled output on their console.

“I wish that I could say yes. Unfortunately, we are not going to have HDR support for Halo Wars 2. We do support 4K on PC, which looks gorgeous, and you definitely need to play that because it’s stunning,” 343 Industries Design Director Clay Jensen confirmed to Fenix Bazaar.

At the same time, Jensen did note that 343 Industries might support HDR in future games- so I suppose Halo 6 should have it. Halo Wars 2 will be available on February 17 for Xbox One and on PCs running Windows 10.
