In spite of all its critical and commercial success, Hogwarts Legacy did leave quite few people disappointed by not letting players play Quidditch, though of course, WB Games does have plans for the magical sport. Earlier this year, the company announced Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, a full-fledged standalone multiplayer title, and while no gameplay was shown for it at the time, some has now started emerging online.
A closed beta is currently ongoing for Quidditch Champions, though one user has seemingly broken NDA and recently uploaded and streamed a bunch of footage on Twitch (via Push Square). The gameplay that has leaked showcases full matches boasting impressive visuals, while in addition to the sport itself, ancillary mechanics and systems like customization are also showcased, which includes options for picking your role, changing your character’s appearance, goal celebrations, broom, broom trails, and more.
As for when WB Games and developer Unbroken Studios will be ready to showcase the game officially, that remains to be seen- though based on the leaked gameplay footage, it seems to be taking shape nicely.
Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is in development for PC and consoles, and doesn’t yet have a release date.
