After nearly reaching the milestone yesterday, Arrowhead Game Studios’ Helldivers 2 has officially crossed 200,000 peak concurrent players on Steam. It peaked at approximately 203,644 players about four hours ago per SteamDB.
The live-service co-op shooter launched on February 8th for PS5 and PC and has sold about one million copies as Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt noted that it’s “blowing through estimates.” Total peak concurrent players on both platforms crossed 360,000, which is likely even higher now. Unfortunately, the sheer number of players has caused server issues, with players reporting issues with rewards and logging in.
Arrowhead is working on the same, but Quickplay is still not functioning and joining other players’ lobbies requires multiple retries. Stay tuned for more details on other patches in the meantime. As for the future, the title will receive new objectives, biomes, enemies and story updates for free, but a roadmap has yet to be revealed.
