Hogwarts Legacy Has Seen “Spectacular” Player Engagement, WB Games “Very Pleased with Initial Launch”

WB Games president David Haddad says players have logged 267 million hours and sees a "bright future for our other platform launches."

Warner Bros. Games has seen “spectacular” player engagement in Hogwarts Legacy since its launch earlier this month. Speaking to Variety, president David Haddad revealed that players had logged 267 million hours collectively. They’ve also defeated 1.25 billion Dark Wizards, brewed 242 million potions and grown 393 million plants.

“We are very pleased with the initial launch and see a bright future for our other platform launches,” said Haddad. Sales haven’t been revealed, but the action RPG has topped physical sales charts in the UK and Japan in its launch week and performed well in Europe, along with seeing over 879,000 concurrent players on Steam on day one. Hogwarts Legacy launches on April 4th for Xbox One and PS4, while the Nintendo Switch version arrives on July 25th.

Despite the strong reception, Avalanche Software and Portkey Games have no plans for DLC or expansions. A patch recently released and improved performance on Fidelity Mode for PS5 while also fixing crashes, memory leak with the global lighting system and more. Check out the full patch notes here.
