Despite Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reporting that its release date wouldn’t be announced, Hollow Knight: Silksong did appear at Gamescom Opening Night Live. It kicked off the show with a small snippet of gameplay, which you can check out below courtesy of IGN.
While it doesn’t seem like much, the footage highlights some new abilities, including Hornet seemingly igniting her needle and attacking enemies to set them ablaze. We also see a battle against twin bosses with coordinated attacks that seemingly appear like they’re dancing.
Thankfully, we won’t have to wait long for more information. Hollow Knight: Silksong is playable on the show floor, whether you visit the Xbox or Nintendo booth, so more gameplay is likely to emerge. Team Cherry has also announced a special announcement trailer for August 21st, potentially revealing the game’s release date.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is coming to Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. Stay tuned for more updates in the meantime.
