Homefront: The Revolution Is Alive And Well, Coming Next Year

On PC, Xbox One, and PS4.

Deep Silver’s Homefront: The Revolution, the sequel to THQ’s hit but ultimately disappointing shooter, Homefront, was announced a while ago (once Crytek acquired the property), but has since sort of just… disappeared from limelight. Actually, it has sort of never been mentioned since. One would have thought that given just how many times the license changed hands, and how we have not heard anything from the game was cancelled and silently swept under the rug.

Apparently, you would have been wrong too, since Deep Silver confirmed today that the game is alive and well, and currently under development, targeting a 2016 release date on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Game Director Hasit Zala said, “We are excited that Deep Silver’s acquisition of the Homefront IP and assets from Crytek has allowed development of Homefront: The Revolution to continue with minimum disruption. The team here believes we are working on something truly special.”

Deep Silver itself then issued a statement, confirming a slated 2016 release date: “Dambuster Studios are an extraordinarily talented group. We are giving the team every opportunity to turn Homefront: The Revolution into a best-selling title, and have set a 2016 release date to provide them the time they need to achieve this. You can expect to hear more about the game later this year.”

Most likely, we are looking at an E3 unveil for this game. Stay tuned.
