In a new developer video for Horizon Forbidden West, game director Mathijs de Jonge shared various new insights on the open world title. More importantly, he confirmed that Guerrilla Games is aiming to release the game in 2021. Check out the full video below.
Other interesting information includes story bits, like how a new threat has emerged in the form of a red blight. Not only is it ruining the land and causing animals and tribes to starve, but it’s also causing the weather to spiral out of control. Players will thus come across large supercell storms throughout their travels as the biosphere is on the verge of collapsing.
We also learn a bit more about the new tribes, of which some are peaceful and others hostile. As seen in the reveal trailer, one of the enemy tribes has figured out how to override the machines and use them for war. Aloy will be going to “great lengths” to save the world though de Jonge doesn’t want to reveal too many details.
Horizon Forbidden West releases exclusively for the PS5 next year. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
