Horizon Hunters Gathering Shows Off Shadow Gameplay Ahead of Its Next Closed Playtest

Shadow’s quite a versatile hunter, and will prove to be quite the asset at both melee and ranged combat efforts against the Machines.

We have a new look at Horizon Hunters Gathering through the eyes of Shadow, one of the game’s playable Hunters, and we have to say we’re quite enamored by her moveset.

The gameplay is chock full of familiar Machines, one of which (a Stalker) is at Shadow’s side. However, it looks like she’s deadly enough on her own as she puts her sword to efficient use with sweeping strikes and stabs that look primed to tear through armor plating on even the most pesky Machines. She decimates a pack of Watchers with bolts that don’t even let them get close enough for a slam, and takes down Longlegs and Thunderjaws without even batting an eye, and it’s a glorious sight to behold.

We’re especially curious if we might get to see more of her outside of Hunters Gathering, what with its main narrative being totally canon and all. Let’s hope she joins Aloy’s fight at some point, and that she’s part of that adventure whenever it gets here (which unfortunately isn’t soon enough, according to rumors).

Check her out in action below as the next closed playtest for Horizon Hunters Gathering runs from May 22nd to 25th on PC and PS5.
