It would be unwise to think that the developers at Avalanche weren’t aware about the amazing mods that were available for Just Cause 2. They were aware. Very Aware. Just Cause 2 saw a very thriving and happening modding community that made the game all the more interesting. For example, the game didn’t come with a multiplayer mode, but some good folks from the modding community took care of that.
Of course bringing modding to the consoles seems easier in theory, but it will be tough to execute. In an interview with Gamespot Just Cause 3 game director Roland Lesterlin stated that they want to support mods for the PS4 and Xbox One. “We’ve been wanting to do quite a lot of that stuff for a while. We’re not announcing anything there yet, but… we would want to support [mods] as much as possible.”
It must be noted that Fallout 4 on the Xbox One will support mods. Bethesda also plans to bring PC mods on the PS4 version of Fallout 4 so let us hope this becomes a norm for all popular games out there.
