Killer Instinct Original Announcer to Return for Xbox One Version

Players can also expect classic music from previous iterations.

During a Twitch stream for upcoming Xbox One exclusive Killer Instinct, Microsoft creative director Adam Isgreen and producer Torin Rettig revealed that Chris Sutherland, who voiced the announcer for previous Killer Instinct games (the guy who shouts “Combo breaker!” and “Ultraaaa!” during moves) will return as an announcer.

While there is a new announcer for the game, players can choose Sutherland’s voice instead with both old and new dialogue recorded for the game.

But that’s not all: Classic costumes from previous games will also return (though it hasn’t been revealed how or in what form), along with some of the music from the first two games. “For most of you who really love KI 1 and 2, the music of KI 1 and 2, we’ve got you covered.” Double Helix has already made it clear that they are taking fan feedback into account for the game.

Killer Instinct will be a launch title exclusively for the Xbox One and will be released this November for the console.
