During a Q&A session with Eric Boltjes, Lead Designer of Killzone Shadow Fall it was revealed that Guerrilla Games’ biggest challenge in the jump from previous to next generation of consoles is the resolution and managing a massive team of 250 people.
“This next generation, the jump has been relatively easier because the architecture is more easier to work with, more memory which is all great. The biggest jump we have to do though is going to up to these kind of resolutions of 1080p and to get that kind of detail. It is the amount of time we have to spend making everything look good. It is the production effort essentially.”
He also revealed that the team size working on Killzone Shadow Fall is more than 250 and this number does not include the work that they have outsourced to other companies
“We really have to scale up the team as well. During Killzone 2 it was about a hundred people and now we have 250 people and that’s just in out. That’s not counting the outsourcing with different companies located in China, England. It is a lot more effort to get the same amount of game done. The result though is a really pretty game and I hope you guys will love. So it’s worth it but that is the biggest challenge,” he added.
Killzone Shadow Fall will launch exclusively on the PlayStation 4 this November.
