Kingdom Hearts 3, Persona 5, And Final Fantasy 7 Remake Ranked In Latest Japanese Charts

Final Fantasy 15 and Persona 5 ruling the roost, while Zelda ekes out a Top 10 spot.

The players in the Japanese games market are consistent in what they do and do not like, if nothing else- the weekly Famitsu rankings for the most wanted and awaited upcoming games is a testament to that fact. This week’s rankings, for instance, are out, and they show us yet again the same few games that have come to be fixtures of the chart dominating it.

For instance, Final Fantasy 15 takes the first spot, with Persona 5 in a comfortable second place. Final Fantasy 7 Remake, the PS4 and 3DS versions of Dragon Quest 11 respectively, and Pokemon Sun/Moon all follow in that order. Nearer the bottom of the Top 10, we find Nintendo securing another win for themselves with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild coming in at ninth place. Finally, Kingdom Hearts 3 continues to lose mindshare, and is now in eleventh place.

Japan is a country famous for not being particularly big on Nintendo’s legendary franchise, so this is probably good news for Nintendo. We can also probably expect great things from Final Fantasy 15, Persona 5, Dragon Quest 11, and Pokemon Sun/Moon– three of those are going to launch in Japan in the coming three months, and it will definitely be interesting to see how they perform.
