Kojima’s Death Stranding May Make An Appearance At PSX, Will Not Use Sucker Punch Engine – Insider

Will we get to see gameplay footage at last?

Hideo Kojima’s upcoming action adventure game Death Stranding looks to be one of the most anticipated games out there currently- and it looks like we might get to see more of it at the PlayStation Experience this year, if industry insider shinobi602 is right (he usually is).

Posting on NeoGAF, shinobi602 hinted that Death Stranding will probably be at the upcoming PlayStation Experience in some capacity, though of course he refused to go into any further detail. He also said that, contrary to previous reportsDeath Stranding will not be using Sucker Punch’s inFamous: Second Son engine- it will be some other engine, that we will find out about at PSX, when Death Stranding is shown.

All of which sounds exciting, including the bit about the gaming engine- see, developing a brand new engine is one of the reasons that the development of The Phantom Pain took Kojima as long as it did. Hopefully for Death Stranding, he will be using a pre-made middleware engine and rendering solution.

Death Stranding will launch exclusively on the PS4, with a PC version of the game following up later. As usual this report must be taken with a grain of salt but shinobi602  has a terrific track record, so this is most likely happening.
