Left 4 Dead Developer’s Next Game Back 4 Blood is Skipping E3

Turtle Rock Studios says it's "working hard every day" and "can't wait till we can tell you more."

It already seemed like Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment was losing out when Rocksteady announced that it’s new game wouldn’t be at E3 2019. As it turns out, Turtle Rock Studios’ Back 4 Blood, which is also published by Warner Bros., won’t be there either. The developer confirmed as much on Twitter.

“Though we won’t be at E3 this year we want you to know we’re working hard every single day on Back 4 Blood and can’t wait till we can tell you more,” said the tweet. It’s a shame but if the game isn’t ready, there’s no point rushing it to the show. Considering Back 4 Blood is a spiritual successor to the company’s Left 4 Dead franchise, it’s probably best to give it more time to cook.

Back 4 Blood was announced in March 2019 and offers a “premium” co-op zombie shooting experience. Despite the studio’s history with Left 4 Dead, Back 4 Blood will have a “whole lot of new stuff” to make it unique like a campaign and PvP. Also, despite being in development for Xbox One, PS4 and PC, other possible consoles “aren’t out of the question” as per the studio. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
