Boy, Molyneux sure loves Uncharted, huh?
In an attempt to perhaps subtly hype up his upcoming RPG, the third game in the bestselling Fable series, Fable III, famed designer Peter Molyneux’s Lionhead Studios has stated that Fable 3 was influenced by Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.
However, Lionhead exec Josh Atkins is quick to add that Uncharted isn’t the only thing that played a role in the development of Fable 3. “This is an amazing industry and we take inspiration from all sorts of games,” he told CVG. “Demon’s Souls and Mass Effect 2 were both great titles and we definitely think what decisions they made and why we think they made them.”
Talking about Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Atkins adds, “[Drake’s Fortune] was a brilliant game that was an amazing combination of cinema and gameplay. Peggle is still one of the most satisfying and fun games to play while We Rule has a lot of good ideas on how two players can share experiences between two different ‘kingdoms.'”
Sounds like quite the patchwork, doesn’t it?
Fable 3 hits the Xbox 360 this October. The PC version has been delayed.
