If you want to play this year’s edition of Madden NFL, EA Sports’ long running American football simulation franchise, a bit early ahead of its launch, you’ll be happy to know that you can do that now- at least, if you game on PC or Xbox One, and if you are correspondingly subscribed to Origin Access or EA Access.
EA Access (and Origin Access) are Microsoft Game Pass style services (though they predate Game Pass by quite a bit), which offer you access to an ongoing catalog of EA games, as well as access to EA’s games for a limited, “trial” version a week or so ahead of launch. EA’s presumably had quite a bit of success with the model, because they’re doubling down on it with a more premium tier of the service announced at E3, and now available.
Back to Madden NFL 19, the game will offer a story mode that continues the narrative of the story mode in the first game, as well as requisite updates to the other modes and mechanics. It launches on August 10 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC (and will be the first game in the series to launch on PC in decade, actually).
