Ubisoft’s Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope hasn’t had ton of information since its announcement last year. The publisher said in its last quarterly fiscal briefing that the turn-based tactical strategy title would launch by April 2023. However, it seems that it could still end up arriving this year.
This is according to leaker NateTheHate who reported a release window of Holiday 2022. In the same podcast, ModernVintageGamer was allegedly told that the game is “progressing well.” Though Nate previously reported possible delay to next year, the project is seemingly back on track. A release date may be announced in the coming months, perhaps at the next Ubisoft Forward (where rumored titles like Assassin’s Creed Rift and the new Prince of Persia could be present).
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope goes beyond the first game’s Mushroom Kingdom setting and instead features multiple planets. Mario and friends must essentially traverse the galaxy and rescue Sparks in order to defeat the new villain, Cursa. Along with combat that’s more akin to Divinity: Original Sin, it will also feature new characters like Rabbid Rosalina.
