Marvel’s Midnight Suns is “Easily the Biggest Game We’ve Ever Made” – Firaxis

The decision to delay the game to later in fiscal year 2023 was to "ensure we are delivering the best possible experience for our fans."

Despite seemingly being on track for October, Marvel’s Midnight Suns has been delayed again. It’s now releasing in fiscal year 2023 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC, which could be any date by March 31st, 2023. Then there is the PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch versions coming even later.

In a new tweet, Firaxis confirmed the delay, noting that the decision was made to “ensure we are delivering the best possible experience for our fans.” It also revealed that Marvel’s Midnight Suns was “easily the biggest game we’ve ever made” and appreciated the fan support.

It’s a pretty big statement, especially considering how massive XCOM 2 was at launch (though it got even bigger down the line with War of the Chosen, to say nothing of mods). Marvel’s Midnight Suns features 13 playable characters, including the player-controlled Hunter, each with their unique play styles, cards, and upgrades. Each also has different Hangout events and cutscenes that boost their passives.

The campaign’s length remains unknown, but there could be enough replay value based purely on one’s approach. Time will tell so stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
