Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 Could be “Pretty Epic,” Says Insomniac’s Bryan Intihar

"Where logically do we go from there? I think it would be pretty epic. But, you know, we'll see," says Marvel's Spider-Man 2 director.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launched before the weekend and received rave reviews, but Insomniac Games is seemingly already thinking about the future. It’s somewhat teased in the sequel’s ending, but in the Friends Per Second podcast, senior creative director Bryan Intihar briefly discussed a potential third game.

“If Spider-Man 1 and Miles Morales were like our Iron Man, and Spider-Man 2 was like a Civil War, where logically do we go from there? I think it would be pretty epic. But, you know, we’ll see,” he said. While it doesn’t seem like much, the Marvel analogies can’t be a coincidence. After all, Infinity Ward and Endgame followed the events of Captain America: Civil War, while Civil War in the comics was followed by Secret Invasion. We’ll see if Insomniac’s next Spider-Man has that same kind of scale.

In the meantime, the developer isn’t opposed to delivering spin-off focused on Venom if there’s enough player demand. Stay tuned for more updates on that front, and check out our review for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. We gave it 9 out of 10, praising its story, boss fights, combat and open world while criticizing the progression. You can also check out patch notes for the first update here.
