Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Will Have An Optional 4K / 60 FPS Performance Mode

The dream of zipping through Manhattan at 60 FPS is being realized.

Being a first party PS5 launch title, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is going to shoulder the responsibility of showing off just what it is that Sony’s shiny new console is capable of doing, and it seems like – at least from a visuals and performance perspective – Insomniac are promising exciting things. Ray-tracing, for instance, has been confirmed, and recently, the developer took to Twitter to confirm more new details.

It’s been confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will support an optional 4K / 60 FPS “Performance Mode” on the PS5. The tweet doesn’t clarify what exactly that entails- whether the 4K resolution will take any hits due to the frame rate or what the default mode will offer in terms of frame rate and resolution aren’t things Insomniac have said anything about. Either way, swinging through 60 Manhattan at 60 frames per second is exactly what we should be doing in a Spider-Man game on the PS5, so this is good news, obviously.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales launches for the PS5 this Holiday, but an exact launch date is yet to be confirmed. The game’s box art was recently revealed- check it out through here.
