The French division of the popular online retailer Amazon have listed the highly anticipated science fiction action role playing game Mass Effect 4 as a game set for release in 2020. Yes, you read that right ladies and gentlemen, they’ve listed the game as being five years away.
Now, clearly this is a placeholder of sorts. We already know that the game is in a playable state, but is likely not even close to completion. But going on what developers have said in the past, like “The Mass Effect team has created a fantastic build to cap off 2014. So much diversity, so beautiful,” it’s clear that development isn’t complete.
But here’s a scary thought for you. What if this isn’t a place holder and 2020 is an accurate representation of what to expect in regard to development time. That would really annoy a lot of us, make no mistake, but is Amazon an accurate source on which to base development cycles and expected launch windows? Not at all.
