Mass Effect Andromeda Info to Arrive in Coming Months, Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster Hinted

EA is currently focused on its holiday 2016 line-up.

Bioware promised some new information about Mass Effect Andromeda in the Fall to make up for the relatively short presentation at E3 2016. When it was announced to be skipping Gamescom, many were skeptical about whether anything would be revealed anytime soon.

As it turns out though, holding back information on Mass Effect Andromeda was intentional. EA Studios head Patrick Soderlund told Game Informer that it’s currently focused on its holiday 2016 line-up after which it will shift its focus to Mass Effect.

“Right now we’re focused on our big titles for [October through December], and when that’s done, we’ll shift to Mass Effect. You’ll see a lot more very shortly.”

And no, it’s not like the game is in dire straits. As per Soderlund, “I just came back from a short vacation and I played through the first three hours of the game. It’s very playable, and there is no alarm about, ‘Why aren’t they showing it?’ It’s strictly that the game will get the right type of exposure at the right time.”

Soderlund also hinted at a possible remaster of the Mass Effect Trilogy. It’s not confirmation by any means but it seems to indicate EA being a lot more open to the idea than before. Mass Effect Andromeda is currently slated to release in Q1 2017 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
