Mass Effect Andromeda’s Development Has Not Been Affected After Wynn’s Departure – Bioware

Nothing to see here, everything's well and good.

Nobody can blame you if you, as a Mass Effect fan, were worried by the recent news that Mass Effect Andromeda’s senior development director Chris Wynn has left Bioware- after all, what if such a high profile change midway through development somehow ended up impacting how the game would turn out, right?

However, Bioware has issued a statement, and has assured fans that development on Mass Effect: Andromeda is not going to be affected by this departure. Bioware, of course, has a vested interest in putting out this message – they don’t want players to lose hype for the game – but we’ve seen in the past, that single, isolated instances of changes like this have rarely, if ever, had a negative impact on development.

“Chris was a great member of the team,” Bioware said. “We want to thank him for his contributions and we wish him the best in his new adventures. Development of Mass Effect Andromeda continues to move full speed ahead at BioWare Montreal, Edmonton and Austin.”

Like I said- they obviously want us to think that everything’s fine and peachy. But on the other hand, just one person leaving the team, even if that one person was very senior, can hardly derail development- I’d believe Bioware on this one.
