Mass Effect Andromeda’s Male/Female Ryders Are Siblings

And the man in N7 armour is their father.

Bioware revealed a bit more information about Mass Effect Andromeda following its gameplay debut at the PlayStation Meeting. It confirmed that the game would run at 30 FPS on both PS4 Pro and PS4 while also re-iterating the pre-alpha status of the footage.

However, creative director Mac Walters also told PlayStation Access that Ryder, the name of the game’s protagonist, is more than just a gender choice. While you can choose to play a male or female Ryder, both genders actually exist in the game as siblings. An even more interesting thing to note is that the other sibling is “out there somewhere” and may or may not run into each other. Your choice of sibling will of course be canon.

As for the character seen in N7 armour during the reveal trailer, that’s actually the father of the two Ryders. Intriguing, to say the least.

Mass Effect Andromeda is out in early 2017 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. What are your thoughts on it? Let us know below.
