Bioware’s Mass Effect: Andromeda will feature microtransactions in its multiplayer, allowing players to buy packs containing new weapons (or upgrades to current weapons), consumables, equipment and other boosts. The pricing for said microtransactions has now been revealed.
According to UK retailer ShopTo, which is taking pre-orders on Andromeda Points that can be bought with real world money, you can get 500 points for £3.95; 1020 points for £7.96; 2150 points for £15.95; 3250 points for £24.95; 5750 points for £39.95; and 12,000 points for £79.96. ShopTo is currently the only retailer selling them at this time.
It hasn’t been confirmed how many points have to be spent to obtain a pack. If it’s anything like Mass Effect 3, which had pretty much the exact same system of unlockable boxes that can be earned in-game if you amass enough credits, then expect different prices for various packs.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is out on March 21st for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. EA/Origin Access goes live on March 16th and will include the Day One patch.
