Throughout each Mass Effect title in the Legendary Edition, Credits can be essential especially if you’re trying to pick up the latest and greatest weapons. It’s worth noting that rewards will improve at higher levels and while you could survive for a bit with the initial weapons, they’ll need to be replaced as time goes by. The key is to try and manage with weapons that you find or earn as rewards while also also selling any weapons you don’t need (though the beginning weapons can usually be dismantled without much consequence). Also, instead of trying to purchase all of them, focus on the Spectre weapon that suits your play-style and save up towards it. This applies for the entire trilogy.
In Mass Effect 1, there are multiple ways to go about saving and earning money. First off, don’t purchase every single Armory License available. Go for Aldrin Labs, Devlon Industries, Sirta Foundation, Ariake Technologies, Kassa Fabrication and Serrice Council. These will ensure you have the best selection of weapons available.
To earn Credits, engage in a game of Quasar. It can be found in the Silver Coast Casino or the Flux nightclub in the Citadel. It works a lot like Blackjack – you need to get close to the number 20. Going over this number means you lose. Opt for the High Stakes machines to secure a neat profit on each win. If your number if 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 or 15, select [4-7]. If the number is 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12 or 16, go with [1-8]. If your number is 17 to 20, then opt to “Stay”. Follow these steps and you’ll win more games and earn money at a fast rate.
There’s also a “glitch” of sorts that can be exploited. First, save your game beforehand and head to the Med Clinic in the Citadel’s Upper Wars to speak to Dr. Chloe Michel. Sell everything that you have here and venture to the Markets. Meet up with the Expat and go to the Buyback menu. You can buy back everything sold to Michel at half price, thus netting a neat profit. Return to Michel and repeat this process.
For Mass Effect 2, don’t spend too many Credits on Probes and only mine the Rich and Good planets. Use fuel conservatively and do multiple things when going to a system instead of venturing back and forth, wasting precious fuel in the process. Avoid going for the hacking and bypass upgrades and don’t purchase items from the store until you get a discount. Finally, examine all containers and data pads for additional Credits. You do receive some bonuses from importing a max level character from Mass Effect 1 so use that to your advantage.
Mass Effect 3 makes it a lot easier to farm Credits. Simply load up the Citadel DLC and play the Armax Arsenal Arena. Earn 6,000 Points and you can redeem the tokens for 10,000 Credits among other prizes. The Arena can be replayed infinitely, allowing you to farm as much as you’d like. Otherwise, don’t spend too much on fuel, avoid purchasing any of the decorations and don’t purchase anything from the Normandy’s requisition terminal since you have to pay 10 percent extra.
