Mass Effect “Plans” Teased By BioWare

I am Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite news report on the Citadel.

Last year’s Mass Effect: Andromeda, while not a game without merits, ended up being an overall disappointment, and underperforming at the market. In fact, it underperformed so badly that the Mass Effect series as whole was reportedly put on ice.

In the last few months, however, ever since BioWare alum Casey Hudson returned to the helm of the once beloved studio, he has been making it clear that no matter what the reports might have said, Mass Effect is not dead, and that there is future for it. In a new blog update regarding the state of affairs at BioWare, Hudson once again alluded to the future of Mass Effect, noting that the recent 4K patch for Andromeda that was just released is just a “small part of the plans [BioWare is] making for Mass Effect going forward.”

This is the only update we get on Mass Effect, but for those who are eager to know that their favorite franchise may not be dead, this may just be enough. Mass Effect Andromeda may have damaged the franchise’s standing, but it seems like, for now, there does exists a future for it, a future actively being planned by BioWare.
