MediEvil PS4 Will Be A Full Remake, Trailer Coming Next Week

Sony has revealed new details about the upcoming MediEvil revival.

Sony announced a MediEvil remaster for the PS4 in December of last year, much to the excitement of great many fans of the PlayStation classic, but since then we hadn’t really heard much else on that front. That changed last week, when it was confirmed that SIE Worldwide Studios boss Shawn Layden would be sharing new information on the project soon- and true to his words, that’s exactly what he’s done.

And it’s good news. As it turns out, the scope of the project is beyond what we initially expected. MediEvil on the PS4 isn’t going to be a remaster, but instead a proper, full fledged remake of the 1998 PlayStation action adventure title. Layden confirmed this on PlayStation’s official podcast, where he also revealed that development is being handled by Other Ocean Interactive (developers of Minecraft: Nintendo 3DS Edition and Thimbleweed Park, among others), with Sony themselves also aiding the development.

Members of Guerrilla Cambridge, the team that originally developed the PS1 game, are also involved in the remake’s production. Finally, Layden also confirmed that a trailer for game will be released next week on October 31. That’s all incredibly good news- here’s hoping the remake succeeds in revitalizing the franchise.

We’ll have the trailer for you as soon as it’s out, so stay tuned to GamingBolt.
